My name is Gastón and I'm a Senior Software Engineer @ Spotify. I specialize in backend, but can do frontend and mobile. I can also hack some ML / Data pipelines.

2021 onwards – Enhance
Feature that appears on your favorite playlists and Liked Songs [Verge]. It lets you discover new music based on your listening habits and songs within your playlists.
2019 to 2021 – Spotify Kids
App for kids under 11. The app is designed to be safe, thanks to the curation of internal editors [TechCrunch][Verge]. Shipped the first version of the Android app and backend.
2017 to 2019 – Client Infrastructure
Built many parts of what is now Open-Source Backstage. I built many of the plugins around code quality and test metrics.
Where I'm based
I'm based in NYC and moved here after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016. I also lived in London for a brief 2-year stint in 2019.
I'm originally Basque and I'm fluent in Spanish, Basque, English and French. Here's a photo of the city I grew up in, San Sebastián, Spain:
